2025 will be one to remember in my racing career.

With low car counts at Sunset Speedway the last few years, the fact that I am getting older and will one day have to give up racing full time to start a family, I approached my sponsors to see if they could help me in reaching my goal of racing in the APC United Racing Series in 2025.

This was a HUGE step for, not only myself, but my crew (all 2 of them) and my sponsors.  Not only was I suggesting we tackle tracks I’ve never raced at, needing a minimum budget of at least 3 times what I’ve had in the past, I would have to buy a tow vehicle and I would now be looking to go and race against the best race car drivers in Ontario.  My sponsors and crew pulled through and supported me as they have done for so many years, and we made the move.

We did some testing at Delaware Speedway early in the year as this was the track that I was the most unsure of.  Testing was okay, something felt off, but it was put down to the roughness of the track.  We would test at Delaware toward the end of the year as well as we struggled with the car week in and out when it came to our left front brake. This was the only time that I would do any testing at any of the tracks I hadn’t raced at before, simply because, I work full time as does my crew and couldn't take the time off, and it pushes the budget.  Each time we showed up to Flamborough, Peterborough and Sauble, this would be the first time we would be on track in a late model and only had the practice sessions on race day to figure out the track and the set up.

Some tracks are tough as once you get lapped, you really aren’t racing any longer, the leaders will go by, and once these races get drawn out there is not a lot of room to move back into the racing groove. The biggest thing for me this year was not wanting to be in the way or ruin someones day - especially when they have a chance at a top finish.

Overall, we stayed out of trouble, had some good runs and finished 12th in the points.  We had a lot to get used to in our rookie year, as a driver and a team, and we are happy with our outcome.  Only four teams were on track at the end of every race - Josh Stade, Shae Gemmel, Cory McAllister and myself.  I am very proud of this accomplishment as a big part of being a better racer is the seat time and finishing races.

To my sponsors, Mobil 1, Connell’s Construction, Orillia Metal Fabrication and Auto Trim Barrie - I cannot do this without all of you and I thank you for stepping up to the APC United Racing Series with me.  I truly appreciate all your support and hope we can do it again.

To my crew, Dad, Paul and part time Cameron, you guys showed the pits exactly what you can do even being a small team in the APC Series and you all work so incredibly hard for me.  I appreciate you all so much.

Thank you to my biggest supporters Randal, Emileigh, my Mom and Brooklyn - for everything you do for me.

Thank you to McColl Racing Enterprises and Sheridan-Scherba Racing for all your help and advice over the season.

This year has been full of hard moments, exciting times and learning experiences. 2025 was more a year for personal growth and commitment than it was one for racing - this year took everything in me personally, professionally and mentally. In return it gave me a proud, inspired woman ready to take on any challenges I may face moving forward. Every race year that ends is another season I cherish knowing this fun and excitement that has raised me will not always include me in a drivers seat. But for now while it does, I’ll keep pushing myself and hopefully make my team and sponsors proud, and be a role model for other women and young drivers as others in our community have done for me.

My 2026 plans are not finalized at this time.  Even without having any major issues in 2025 we well exceeded our budget, so we will need more sponsorship for 2026 in order to run full time in APC.  We are hoping to pick up some extra sponsorship, hopeful to be able to race the whole season to see if we can improve now that we’ve been to each track at least once.

At worst case, if we cannot do the whole season, we will race as many races as we can.  Either way, we are looking forward to 2026.

September 27, 2025 - Castrol 300 - Delaware Speedway

This past weekend was a huge weekend for me.  It was the last APC United Racing Series race of the season, the end to my rookie year and the longest race that I would run, ever.  I was extremely nervous coming into this race weekend.

The one goal that I set out for myself for this year was to complete every race.  I am beyond proud to say that only 4 drivers were on the track for the checkered flag at the end of every single race this season - Josh Stade (The Champion), Shae Gemmel and both the Rookies, Cory McAllister and myself.  That is a huge accomplishment that I am very proud of, especially for myself and Cory - Congrats to Cory on winning Rookie of the Year.

I practiced at Delaware a couple times leading up to this race since i had only raced here one time before. McColl Racing helped me out and put a great set up in the car for me, and I ran my quickest laps at Delaware this weekend.  I couldn't have asked for more from them.  The car has more speed in it and I’m feeling more confident in what the car needs now at these tracks I'm still learning.

This race would have the highest car count of the year.  We did group qualifying and I would end up 24th quick out of 27.   The series had a number of competition cautions planned for fuel stops, tire stops etc.  We started 24th and the field set a good pace for the beginning of the race.   On lap 48 the 93 of Carson Nagy had a flat right rear tire coming out of corner 4, the 72 of Jr Farrley spun in front of me and I was able to get around him with no contact or damage.  Unfortunately the spinning car of Nagy collected the 30 of Jonathan Aarts.  When the leaders came out of corner 4 and slowed down, the 22 of Kyle Steckly didn't get slowed and hit the back of the 28 of DJ Kennington, sending him into the leader, the 52 of Jake Sheridan.  All three leaders would have to go to pit lane for extensive repairs.

We would restart in 22nd and quickly make our way to 18th and a few laps later, would drop back to 20th.  A few laps later, DJ Kennington was knocking on my back bumper, after a few laps he got underneath me and a few other cars went with him.  On lap 88, the 72 would get under the 69 of Lloyd Rawlings and spin him, bringing out the caution.  This would be a competition caution for fuel only.

We will restart in 19th, we had a long green flag run, in which I ran in the 19th position, until lap 148 when the caution would come out again when the 72 would get into the back of the 0 of Glenn Styres, spinning him up to the wall.  The would be our next competition caution.  For this caution, we would change 2 right side tires and rejoin the field.  My car felt great and there was nothing I could complain about.

We were at the halfway mark at this point, I would restart the race in 18th, move up to 17th a couple laps later and then into 16th two laps after that.  I would run in 16th for the next 20 laps until the caution would come out again on lap 185 for 39 of Brady Smith who apparently lost brakes and hit the turn 3 wall.   This would be another competition caution for fuel only.

We restarted in 16th and quickly moved into the 15th position, where we would stay until the caution at lap 203, when the 3 car would get into the 10k of Jesse Kennedy and turn him into the inside wall.   We would restart in 15th position and move up to 14th 3 laps later and then into 13th about 7 laps later.  I ran in 13th for about 40 laps before getting passed and dropped back to 14th again.   Final caution competition caution of the race would be at lap 280, we would restart 14th and fall to 15th before the checkered flag.   The 3 of Shae Gemmel would pass the 52 for the win.

I would finish the year 12th in points, with an average finish of 14th.  This was above my expectation for the season.  I know the depth of the field that i am racing against, I had only ever really raced at Sunset Speedway, so I had a lot to learn and still do, racing in this series and at these tracks.  I want to thank all the drivers that welcomed me into the series, that raced me with respect and treated me as an equal out there.

This season was more than I ever expected it would be. I look back and think about how only a short 8 years ago I was getting behind the wheel of my Limited Late Model for the first time, having absolutely no idea what would be in store for me in the future. This year was difficult but so fun. Racing is a sport that takes everything you have time, money, energy and emotion and gives it all back to you in different ways - humility, excitement, memories and fun.

What will 2026 bring?  I truly don't know.  Racing in 2025 took everything I had financially and then some.  I have some great sponsors and supporters, and I wouldn't have been able to do this without their support.   We are hoping to be able to return to the series for the 2026 season, but we are going to need to find some sponsor support to make this happen.  As soon as we know our solid plans, we will share them.  I am thankful for every sponsor, crew member and fan that supported me in 2025.

August 30, 2025 - Stewarts and Kubota 150 - Sunset Speedway

Coming back to my home track, Sunset Speedway, we were hoping for a good finish.

Qualifying was single car this week, which isn’t my favourite as I prefer group qualifying. we qualified 15th out of 20 cars.  Which I was really proud of as this was our best qualifying effort this season.

Started 14th (one car ahead of us dropped to the rear as they had a substitute driver qualify for them) and we started to fall back before finally spinning on lap 9 due to a flat LR tire.  I would bring out the caution and we would then restart in 17th.
Still fighting the same LF lock up issues we have as all season and something else wrong with the car, what exactly, I’m not sure of but I have a few ideas and a place to start looking this week, we would go down a lap early.

Lap 64 was exciting as the leaders were coming down the straightaway to corner 1.  I stayed low and 89 Chenoweth went high and 3 Gemmel went under me, so we were 3 wide through the corner.

Lap 75 would bring out the competition caution, which I was thankful for as the car was a handful.  We would pit and made a number of changes before heading back out.

After the caution I would restart in 18th and just a few laps later, lap 83, I would bring out the caution again and back to the pits we would go. My car was extremely loose all around the track and the car was not adjusting to any of our changes which was so frustrating.  Restarted again in 18th and just looking to finish the race at this point.

I had a great view of the race finish when the 22 of Steckly passed me on the back straight on lap 148, followed by the 52 of Sheridan passing me at entry to corner 3 before they battled each other to the end.   Congrats to the 52 team on the win.

We are off for a couple of weeks, which will allow me the time to get my car fixed and hopefully whatever is wrong with it will be handled before the 300 lap race at Delaware on September 27th!

Every race, for the last 13 years, I have raced with respect and integrity.  We race as a family, I try to learn as much as I can, and have the best race I can, but most importantly, I race to have fun.

Every time I show up at the race track, I do it with professionalism. I am there to represent my sponsors and the series I race in.  As a woman in Motorsports, I know that my path is already more difficult than my competitors, but regardless I show up with integrity and humility every single week.

All in all, I want to say thank you to all the people that support me week in and week out.

August 23, 2025 - Stewarts and Kubota 100 - Sauble Speedway

Mother Nature did not want to co-operate all weekend.  We were postponed on Saturday due to rain, which was a good call as we were camping and it rained a lot on Saturday evening.

19 Pro lates shows up for the race on Sunday.  Practice I felt pretty good knowing that I had my best run so far this season here a few weeks ago. We were 13th fastest out of 19, just 0.195 off the top car, which was the 17 of Josh Stade.  We were happy with how practice finished.

Qualifying was a wash as we needed to get racing before the weather came in.  We lined up by points and started 14th.

In the beginning, we got up to 12th, but the 3 car of Shae Gemmel tried to make it 3 wide on lap 3 and got the 72 of Jr Farrelly sideways which had the whole field stacking up-  No caution came out. I got slowed and missed it, but it would send me back to 16th and on the outside, from there I fell back to 19th.  The car was not  good AT ALL. It was tight through the middle and loose out, every racers worst nightmare lol. I think without running the tires in qualifying I just missed the part setting them up for the race.

The 74 of Erik Dalla Riva would bring out the first caution of the night, around lap 20, when he spun out of corner 2.  We headed pit side for some much needed adjustments.  83 Dale Shaw is still the leader at this point.  We would restart 19th.

On lap 42, the 52 of Jake Sheridan and 3 of Shae Gemmel will bring out the next caution when the 3 spins coming out of corner 2. Our car was still not very good, so we headed pit side again under this caution.

Kyle Steckly is the leader and I will restart in 16th.  About lap 52, I got into the back of the 74 coming out of corner 2 and he would go around and we would bring out the caution.  Sorry again to the 74 team, an honest mistake as there was a bit of a slow down in the back of the pack!  I’d pit once again and would restart in 19th.

Lap 56 would bring out the next caution when a bunch of cars checked up in corner 3 turn and the 74 would go around again along with the 7 of Ty Cavallin.

I restarted 15th and a couple laps after the restart, the 19 of Connor Pritiko got turned when battling with 17 of Josh Stade and the whole field stacked up behind the spinning car.  The 72 of Jr Farrlley went airborne and broke, Pritiko would be done for the night as well.  The 10 of Tom Gibbons would also be spun, but he will continue the race.

I restarted 13th , with 43 laps to go in the race.  Dale Shaw gets a great restart and him and Steckly battle for a few laps side by side.  83 has the lead for 2 laps before the 22 gets back by him.  Unfortunately, for the 22, the 81 of Lane Zardo and I were battling hard, some contact would send him around and bring out the caution.  We would go back a lap, as always in racing, so this would give the lead back to the 83.  We lined back up to restart, but the rain started and this would end the race with Dale Shaw as the winner.

It was a rough race all around. Every driver knew they had to move up as much as they could, as fast as they could, as the rain was coming. Through a number of cautions, some damaged race cars, we ended up finishing in 13th spot.

It was a good night for our team. As always, thanks for my crew for all their hard work, Nick for his help during the pit stops as well, and my sponsors

August 2, 2025 - Stewarts Equipment 100 - Sauble Speedway

What a weekend!!  Finally no brake issues at all, for the first time I felt I could actually race with the pack and I had a lot of fun!!  The season has been a bit frustrating with the issues we've had, learning the different tracks and finally getting to a spot where we are having a lot of fun racing again.

We had a one hour practice session where my team did an incredible job getting all the changes I needed done, unfortunately no changes made any difference to the car- a feeling a lot of drivers had after practice. Our best time was a 15.001, and in qualifying we ended up with a 14.628, which was 0.334 off the pole.

In the feature, we would roll off in the 18th starting position. Once we took the green, there would be a quick caution flag as the 72 Jr. Farrley jumped the start - we have a lap to give back to position, but he did not do this - so the caution came out for a full restart.  We would go back racing and not see another caution until lap 18 after the 3 of Shae Gemmel got into the 89c of Shawn Chenowith and then a couple of laps later, the 89c got into the back of the 3 spinning him.

I would restart in 16th and shortly after the 81 spun bringing out the 3rd caution of the day.  My car was feeling great, I was so happy with how we were running.

I restarted in 13th position and we would make it to lap 33 before the 71 of Cory McAllister would get into the back of the 3 car sending him around in corner 1.  I managed to get stopped but was hit from behind by the 10 of Tom Gibbons, who was hit by the 18 of Cole Quinton.  We would be able to continue with no real damage. I would restart in 13th again, but by halfway through the race, I had dropped back a bit to 16th. We were super loose under braking so that was hurting us, especially on the top groove.

Lap 65 would bring out another caution when the 7 would spin in corner 1.

On the restart, I would be 11th, best run we have had all season, but this would come to an end when the 3 of Shae Gemmel doored my right front as we were entering turn 1, which ended in me spinning to the infield bringing out the caution. Very frustrating but the possibility of our first top 10 was there, and the finish doesn’t show how much improvement we made!

I would restart at the back and we would continue to run green until lap 76 when the 71 would spin the 30 of Ray Morneau.  I would restart in 15th and this would be the final caution of the night.  We would finish the race in 14th and although I believe we would have had a better finish if we had not been spun, we are still happy with the finish as we actually had a good car and a good race.  Looking forward to the return to Sauble Speedway on August 23/25.  Hopefully we can have an even better run now that we have a bit more experience on this track.

Thanks as always to my sponsors, Mobil 1, Connells Construction, Orillia Metal Fabrication and Auto Trim Barrie.  I cannot do this with you and it is appreciated every day.

Thanks to my crew, Dad, Paul and Cameron, we have a really small crew and you guys work so hard for me.  And my supporters Randal and Brooklyn, thank you for everything you do!

July 12, 2025 - LLR 100 - Flamborough Speedway

We made our second trip to Flamborough this weekend for the LLR 100, and It was so much better than the first go around.

We spent some time at McColl Racing last week, found some issues with the car that we’ve been chasing for 3 races now, we headed to the track hoping for better results.   Immediately the car felt so much better in practice.  Our previous issues were fixed and we felt good about the day. The first race at Flamborough a month ago was my first time racing the track, and when we did qualifying the first time it was single car qualifying and I struggled with all my marks in such a short run. At the first race we qualified with a time of 16.423.  This week, it was my second race here and I felt so much better about the car and the track. With group qualifying this time we qualified with a 15.494.  Huge gains from our first time here.   We were 0.330 off the 52’s pole speed time, so we were happy with the gains for the car and me as a driver.

We started the race in 14th on the outside and raced there for a few laps before falling into 16th.   We ran there until lap 44 when we moved into 15th and a lap later we lost the brakes, pedal going right to the floor.  This has never happened to me before in 13 years of racing so it was a wild feeling.

My goal this year is to finish every race, so now my goal for this race was to survive with limited brakes. It sure was an exhausting race but we really laid back in order to save our stuff and make sure we didn’t push up into our competitors.

With my brakes done and the heat of the day, I was grateful that the race went green to checkers.  I would finish the race 13th.
Thanks to CMRT for checking on me and all the drivers after the race to make sure everyone was okay as I heard a few drivers were suffering from heat exhaustion.  They do a great job and are appreciated.

We head to Sauble Speedway for the next race on August 2nd. Excited to race at Sauble, I raced there a couple times 10+ years ago in a mini stock, so basically a new track again.

Thanks to my crew for bearing with the heat this weekend, to Jo Lawrence for help at the track and as always, to my sponsors Mobil 1, Connell’s Construction, Orillia Metal Fabrication and Auto Trim Barrie.

June 30, 2025 -  AC Delco 100 - Delaware Speedway

We went into this weekend at Delaware the same way we do at every track this year, looking to put in some laps at the tracks we’ve never raced at, be on track at the end of the race, keep it clean and learn what we can.

I did about 100 laps of practice at Delaware in April, but otherwise, have never raced at this track.  We have been having issues with the left front locking up, but we went over everything last Sunday, thanks to the Sheridan crew for helping us with this, and thought we had found the issue - it would seem we did not.

We went out for practice and the best we were able to do in practice was a 19.03.  Found early in that practice that we did not fix the issue, so I wasn’t able to get into the corners as hard as I needed to, to be able to set up and get out of the corner, so that was frustrating.  We would qualify at the back with a 19.06.

We started the race outside of the 51 of Mike Bentley and would settle in until lap 30 when we passed the 97 car and a few laps later we were passed by the 22 to go down a lap.

On lap 41, the 51 would go for a solo spin out of corner 2 and bring out the first caution of the night.  This was much needed for me as I needed a change on my car.

Unfortunately, Bentley was the first car a lap down, but as he brought out the caution, he does not get the lucky dog, and it does not go to the next in line, so no lucky dog was given this caution.  We adjusted the air pressures on the car and went back out. I would restart in 16th.
Just a handful of laps later, the 97 would stop on entry to pit road bringing out another caution.  I once again came in for an adjustment, restarted the race in 16th and the adjustment did not work out as I would then solo spin on lap 45.  Caution out and back to the pit again in an attempt to make this car better.   Unfortunately, much like 51 earlier, I would have been the lucky dog if I had not been the caution.

My crew is very small, my Dad who spots for me, and Paul who is my only crew guy in the pits.  I am grateful for the help that I receive from the Sheridan crew and from Brandon McFerran tonight.  Nick, Brandon and Paul made some adjustments and on this restart I would be 15th.

We would run about 20 more laps, I was 2 laps down and there was no one running on the same lap as me, as the others were 4+ laps down or on the lead lap. I just stayed at the back of the field, to let the others race, as I had nothing to gain.  As we all know when these races come to the end, there is always some action which will bring out the cautions, so I was staying back of the field to keep my car clean.

On lap 85 the trailing arm bracket would break on the 30 car bringing out the caution.  I would again restart in 15th.

A lap later, after battling for a number of laps, the 18 spun the 3 entering corner 1 and the caution would come out again.  On lap 91, the 52 car would break the right front hub bringing out the caution and ending his night.  Just a few laps after the restart, the 83 of Dale Shaw would slow on track, I believe he just lost power.  The two cars, 52 and 83, were tied for 2nd in the points going into the night and both had failures.

I would restart in 13th and on the back stretch, the 30 of Jonathan Aarts would get loose coming out of corner 2 and collect the 83 car bringing out the caution and ending both their nights.  I am grateful that I was about 7-8 car lengths behind them so I wasn’t involved as well, things happen quick in this series!

The final restart of the night there would be a great battle up front and the 19 of Connor Pritiko would pass the 22 for the win, I finished in 12th.

It was an okay night.  I learned some things about the track.  It was a hot night, hopefully it is cooler when we return in September for 300 laps!!!

Thanks to all my sponsors for making this possible - Mobil 1, Connell’s Construction, Orillia Metal Fabrication, Academy Construction and Auto Trim Barrie. Thanks to my crew, and all that support me, for everything!  It’s hard with limited crew, I kept them busy all day today, they are very much appreciated.

Next race will be on July 12th at Flamborough Speedway.

June 14, 2025 - United Racing Series Spectra Premium 100 at Peterborough Speedway

Another week, another new track. Everyone I’ve spoken to said that they loved racing Peterborough and for a lot of them it was their favourite track. I can see why!

First practice, first laps on the track, and almost immediately, I felt comfortable in the seat. There’s always going to be a learning curve and it took some time to learn where to set up corner entry, where to brake and so on but it felt much more natural than Flamborough last weekend.

Seems I am still fighting some brake issues, where my left front is locking up, which unfortunately we’ve been fighting for 3 weeks. I'm not sure what the problem is yet, but hopefully we will be able to get this sorted out before the next round at Delaware Speedway at the end of the month.

Qualifying came, and although I qualified last once again this week, I was able to get my quickest time of the day and dipped into the 13.9's.

We started the race in 19th and on lap 1,  there was a big wreck in corner 3 which involved the 41, 97, 94, 71H (McHattie) and 81. The 94 would end up with the most damage and unfortunately his day was done on lap 1.

I restarted in 15th. On lap 26 the 0 would be spun by the 78 in corner 1 bringing out the caution and sending both these cars to the back of the field. The 71 of McAllister had been lapped so he would be the lucky dog.

I restarted again in 15th and we would run a number of green flag laps which lead to me being put down a lap on lap 56. On lap 63, coming out of corner 4 in the low lane as lead lap cars were passing, I would be hit from behind from the 3 car and turned sideways, fortunately I was able to save it as I was in a group of top ten cars.

On the next lap the 18 was behind me coming to lap me, followed by the 71H and 72 two wide behind him. Coming into corner 1, I was holding the inside lane as the lead lap cars were coming, the 18 decided to attempt to take the bottom lane instead of the outside groove I left for the cars lapping me. We hit and I spun in corner 1 bringing out the caution, we both would restart at the back.

Lap 63 restart would be called back on the first attempt, we would make a second attempt and on the next lap crossing the finish line the 0 would get loose and spin down the front stretch, not hitting any other cars. Even with this quick yellow, they put out the choose cone and I got the lucky dog.

I would restart in 15th again and on lap 66, coming out of corner 4, the 71H and 72 ahead of me would get together and as I checked up for this, the 18 got into the back of me but we all continued.

Around lap 84 I got put a lap down.

Lap 94 would see the final caution of the night with the 97 doing a solo spin in corner 3. I would restart the race in 14th after being awarded the lucky dog and bring home my highest APC finish in 13th place, with a flat right rear tire.

Thankful as always to my crew, Dad, Paul and Randal and the Sheridan crew for all their help each week. And to my sponsors, Mobil 1, Connell's Construction, Orillia Metal Fabrication and Auto Trim Barrie.

We considered racing the Jeff Cassidy Memorial race, but with the short turn around and pending weather, we have decided not to.  So our next race will be June 28, 2025 at Delaware Speedway.
June 7, 2025 Grisdale 150 at Flamborough Speedway

We had a great experience with the APC United Late Model Series at Flamborough Speeday.  I have been to this track many times as a spectator but I have never turned a single lap on the track as a driver.

This weekend was full of firsts and honestly an overwhelming one to say the least, and thats in the best way possible. This weekend, like all APC weekends, was very busy and it feels like there is never enough time to get everything completed. But we managed to race at a brand new place, surrounded by support from family and friends and came home with new experience, minimal work to be done and a lot of gratitude.

It takes a whole lot of passion, humility, grace and time to be able to compete in the APC Series and those are still things I’m learning, along with not being so hard on myself. I was shocked and overwhelmed at the support I was shown this weekend. Text messages and calls wishing me luck and asking how I did, crew driving down after their own racing and more.

Running with the APC Series is no small task and I feel very proud to be able to say I compete against some of the best drivers in the country. As each race passes and we learn a little more each time, i'm confident the better finishes will come - but until then, let's finish all these races!

For all I have heard about racing at Flamborough, it did not disappoint.

My Dad and I set up the car, with no prior knowledge of setting up a car to run here. We got some great advice, which we are thankful for.

We went out for first practice and were running laps around the 16.5 second mark and by the end of the 30 lap session we had gained about 6 tenths, running about 15.9, which was about 6 tenths slower than the leader.

For the second practice, we were still in the 15.8-9 range. We were struggling again with that RF caliper but this time instead of leaking it was hanging up somewhere, making it really difficult to make marks here and run quick.

We would go out for single car qualifying and with limited experience here and no other cars on the track, I did not hit my marks and did not qualify well.

We would start the race in 19th, with only Tyler Di Venanzo behind us as he had an issue and did not qualify. Right at the beginning of the race, there would be an issue as the outside line stacked up and the 71, Cory McAllister,  would be turned into the outside wall, receiving some damage, but not too bad, as he pitted and was able to continue.

After the restart, on lap 16 the 31 would get a little sideways and I would pass him for the 17th position.  It doesn't take long to get lapped when the field is single file and you are near the end of the line.  The 52 of Jake Sheridan would pass me on lap 24 putting me down a lap, after this the 72 would pass me and I fell back to 18th.

On lap 40, the 19 would bring out the caution and I was running 17th, one lap down.  Unfortunately, the 71 had just been lapped so he would get the lucky dog and get back on the lead lap, leaving me the first car a lap down.

Competition caution came out on lap 77 and I was running 16th.  Unfortunately again, the 71 had just been lapped again, so he would get the lucky dog.  Luck was not with me tonight for the lucky dog, so we came to the pits to make some changes 2 laps down.

Lap 96, the 72 would spin the 41 coming out of 2 and we would go to caution again. I restarted in 16th at this point.

Not long after the restart, I was just going by instinct for half the time. I lost communication with my spotter with about 30 laps to go.  Randal was in the grandstands listening and jumped in to spot for the rest of the race.  Randal has also never been to Flamborough Speedway in his life, so we were both rookies at this point just looking to finish this race.  I couldn't hear him well, so I was just trying to stay out of everyone's way when I knew the leaders were coming. I only had one car move me, so I think we managed pretty well considering I thought it would be much more.

In the end, we accomplished exactly what we had hoped for.  We raced at a new track, kept the car clean, ran some laps, finished the race, and learned a lot.  Hopefully we can apply this and run better when we return to Flamborough.

Next stop on the tour is Peterborough Speedway on June 14, 2025.  Another new track that I have never turned a lap on, but I'm ready for another challenge!

May 31, 2025 - Sunset Speedway

We haven’t raced since the APC race at Sunset two weeks ago.  At that time, we got caught up in someone else’s issue and sustained quite a bit of right side damage.  Unfortunately, my main shop crew both travel a lot for work, so that makes it a little harder when things become a two person job.

Because of this, we didn’t get the car fixed until about 12pm on May 31/25 so decided to head up to Sunset for the night to test the car before the next APC race at Flamborough.

We missed the first practice session, so we only got out for one practice.  We are happy that we were able to get up to Sunset, as we found that we had a broken calliper.  We drove home to see if we could rebuild it and fix the problem in the garage, but we were not able to.  We went back to the track and were able to borrow one from Dale Shaw.  We missed qualifying, so would start scratch.

We had 100 lap tires on the car from opening night and as I didnt think I'd be racing at Sunset much, they were also used for a practice. Our expectations were to just shake the car down, make sure everything felt good, before heading to Flamborough.  I wanted to make sure the car felt right, on a track I was familiar with, before taking it to a track I’ve never raced at.  All in all, we accomplished what we needed and finished 5th.

We can’t thank Jason and Dale Shaw enough for loaning me the calliper, very much appreciated.
Thanks as always to my crew and sponsors.
We will return to racing on June 7/25 with the APC Series at Flamborough Speedway.  This is a 150 Triple Crown Event so some extra laps and a fan autograph session as well starting at 7:30pm!

We did a charity raffle for the damaged right rear quarter panel from the wreck in the first APC race.  Thank you to everyone for their donations to the Innisfil Food Bank, we raised $335!

May 17/25 United Racing Series - Dayco 100 - at Sunset Speedway

Saturday was the opener for the APC United Racing Series marking what would be our opening points race. The car felt pretty good in practice and we were 9th fastest out of 19. I was pretty happy as I felt we had a good place to start however it felt like every time we went out the car just got worse.

We put on new tires and qualified 16th.  Not what we had been hoping for.
We would start the race in 15th and right from the beginning we were just hanging on to an absolutely undriveable car.   Around lap 40, I would go down a lap and on lap 46, battling the car the whole time, I would end up spinning in corner 2 bringing out the first caution.  Myself and a handful of drivers pit, seems like a lot of people were fighting issues as well.
We restarted at the back and on lap 47, honestly,  I’m not really sure what happened, all I know is it looked like the 22 shot down the track after contact with another car, so I tried to swerve to avoid and thankfully it seems we didn’t do any damage to the suspension just a whole lot of body damage.  All cars would head to the pits.  The whole right side of the body was damaged.
On lap 49 the 74 spun in 3 which would make me the lucky dog to get me back on the lead lap. I restarted in 15th.
Lap 60, the 46 would spin bringing out the caution and I would head to the pits.  The car was really moving in the right front and came to find out I had a broken piece in there which we got fixed up and went back out.
Another caution would come out again as the 51 got into the 71 and slowed with a flat and brought out caution.
I would restart in 15th again and on lap 62 solo spin in corner 1 but kept going so there was no need for a caution.  This car was probably one of the worst I’ve ever driven.
On lap 69 the 0 and 18 get together and bring out caution.  For the final restart I would be 12th and finish the race in 14th.
Not the race we were looking for at our home track, but the positive is, we accomplished our goal which was to finish all the laps for a decent start to the season.
Thanks as always to my crew - Dad, Paul, Cameron, Randal and all the Sheridan crew, who make this possible.
Thanks to my sponsors, I wouldn’t be here without you.

Next up - Flamboro on June 7th. Should be an interesting race, I have never raced this track before but I’m looking forward to 150 laps there!

May 3rd - Sunset Speedway - Steve Slaughter Classic 100 laps

We have chosen to race full time in the APC Series for 2025, therefore, will not be at Sunset weekly.   We wanted to test the car before the first APC Race, so we decided to run opening night at Sunset to get some laps in.

We had a great car in practice, 2nd fastest in second practice.  We made a small adjustment before qualifying, but with some change in weather late in qualifying, the best we could manage was 10th, which was very disappointing as it did not show what the car had.

We would miss the redraw and start the race in 10th.  The 23 car would hit the pits before the green flag with an issue, came back out to take the green, and then would bring out the caution on lap 9 with a solo spin due to a parts failure. The first few laps we were feeling really confident rolling in the top groove.

We would restart the race in 9th but fell back to 11th quickly.  The race was mostly single file by lap 25 and would continue green until lap 47 when the 39 car would drop from the lead to enter the pits and did not return to the race, the race continued green and I was in 10th.

Lap 57, the 55 car would spin and bring out the caution. The car felt good, i was best on the outside.  I would restart 9th, the 3 car came down quick in front of me, everyone slowed up quick and I got into the back of the 3, but just a minor bump and very little  damage on the hood.

3 cars spun/were collected in corner 1 when the 46 got into the 41.  41 and 46 went to the back.  I restarted in 8th and ran there for about 15 laps.  At this point I felt like I was just putting in laps as there was all single file racing for me. Lap 76 would bring out the caution when the 46 went for a solo spin.  On the restart, I lined up 10th.  On lap 78, the 74, 83 and 10 were together going into corner 3 and the 74 car would spin and hit the outside wall hard, the 10 car was sent to the rear.

On the restart, we were 8th, passed the 48 on the outside to move into 7th.  With 3 to go, the 46 was coming quick and my car was pretty tight, he passed me with ease and we ended in 8th.

We were happy with how the car felt and have some ideas for the upcoming APC Race on May 17th.  Thanks to my incredible crew, I was lucky to have both the Sheridan’s this weekend, along with Dad, Paul and Randal.

Looking forward to the APC season this year!

April 19/25 - Delaware Speedway

It's time to start the 2025 season!  Thanks to Carson Nagy for designing the new scheme for 2025 and Auto Trim Barrie for making it look great!

Took on the track I was the most nervous for, Delaware Speedway, this past weekend.  Committing to the United Racing Series full time in 2025 means new tracks and new challenges and yesterday was so awesome getting to try out a new place with my favourite people.  Reminder that all APC United Racing Series races can be viewed on Racing America.

Thanks to all my crew / family for the help and guidance yesterday.  Learning Delaware Speedway with some of the best racers from that track was a great experience and I am thankful.

We will be on track to start the season at Sunset Speedway, May 3, 2025 for the Steve Slaughter Classic.
